Privacy & Security

Your data is yours.
Always. No exceptions.

We believe privacy is a right, not a setting. Here's exactly how we handle your data.

Local storage

Your CV data is stored in your own browser (localStorage). It does not leave your device.

Never sold

Your personal data is never sold, rented or shared with advertisers or third parties.

Always deletable

You can delete your data yourself at any time. Clear your browser cache. Your data is gone.

No content tracking

We don't analyse what you write in your CV. The content of your CV is solely yours.

GDPR-compliant

We fully comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Transparent AI

When AI features become available, we'll explain exactly what data is used and how.

1. What data do we store?

CVontwerper stores your CV content in your browser's localStorage. This includes: name, contact details, work experience, education, skills, languages, chosen template and accent colour.

This data does not leave your device. It is not sent to our servers, not stored in a database and not shared with third parties.

2. What do we do with your data?

We use your data solely for one purpose: displaying your CV in the browser and generating a PDF export. That's all.

We don't analyse what you write. We don't index your CV content. We don't process your data for marketing purposes.

3. Cookies and analytics

CVontwerper doesn't use personal tracking cookies. In the future we may track anonymous usage stats (e.g. number of visitors, most chosen templates), but never linked to your person or CV content.

If we ever deploy analytics tools, we'll mention this explicitly in this policy.

4. PDF generation

Your CV PDF is generated fully client-side, in your own browser, without involving a server. Your CV content is never sent to us for PDF processing.

5. Future AI features

When AI features (such as writing help or recruiter analysis) become available, they're processed via an API connection. In that case:

  • · We explicitly state which data is shared
  • · We ask for your consent before processing
  • · We don't store AI-processed data without your explicit consent
  • · We use anonymisation where possible

6. Your rights (GDPR)

As an EU resident you have the right to:

  • · Access your data
  • · Deletion of your data
  • · Portability of your data
  • · Object to processing

Because your data is stored locally in your browser, you can manage it yourself via browser settings. Need help? Contact us.

7. Security

Although your data is stored in your own browser, we take security seriously. Our website uses HTTPS. We build with privacy by design as our principle.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this privacy policy, we publish the new version on this page with an updated date. We actively notify you of significant changes.
